In a summer filled with uncertainty – wars, wildfires, crop failures and crippling drought – a home garden is a manifestation of hope. Watering, pruning, and fighting the snails.

After tender loving care, the first harvest has begun. Tender calabacín (zucchini) and some yellow squash. Ripe tomatoes are days away.
Seed gathering for next year began yesterday. Onions, flowers, and herbs gone to seed. Collected and tagged. In preparation for next year. Believing things will be better and making notes in the garden journal. Adapting. Learning. Planning for the future.
